Seeking

We are seeking the right person to join our Partnerships (Sales) team to launch and grow Bikmo’s cycle retail insurance scheme - our first ever commercial insurance scheme. 


We have an insurer ready and a business plan to pick up and run with, but there is plenty of scope to make this your own. Commercial retail will be your key focus, but there is also the opportunity to build out Bikmo’s global commercial offerings (‘Bikmo Business’), and grow your own team to support you in managing this.


This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership and play a key role in Bikmo’s mission to insure the world’s cyclist’s, and cycle industry brands.

Role + Responsibilities

Reporting to our Global Head of Partnerships initially, and working closely with our Head of Insurance Product, you will manage ‘Bikmo Business’:


  • Support the final stages of product design and launch of the retail product working closely with the insurer, Product team and our advisors.
  • Creating a sales and marketing strategy for year 1, to deliver our business plan.
  • Winning new business, including policies currently provided by our competitors.
  • Advising clients on risk management, to maintain a healthy insurance scheme and competitive pricing for clients.
  • Working closely with our insurer partner to ensure that claims and administration is managed to a high standard.
  • Gathering information from clients, assessing their risk profile and insurance needs.
  • Staying ahead of the game with industry developments and opportunities.
  • Gathering client feedback to continually improve the product and service.
  • General day-to-day tasks and administrative support across the team (retail and partnerships).
  • Developing new opportunities to grow and develop ‘Bikmo Business’.


Skills + Experiences

Essential 

  • Insurance experience - min. 5 years with relevant qualifications (eg. CII).
  • Sales experience - confident but natural approach to business development.
  • Strong communicator - comfortable and confident speaking to our partners or team members in person, on the phone or on video calls.
  • Efficient - we are a busy company so you need to be able to manage and organise your work efficiently. We’ll provide some great online tools to help.
  • IT literate - we’re a tech-focussed company so finding your way around our online systems is essential. We use Google business suite and various other platforms.
  • Good listener - hearing and acting on client’s needs or feedback is essential.


Desirable

  • Love bikes - most of the team ride, and love the outdoors.
  • Cycling industry experience - understanding of our client’s business and industry.
  • Team management - experience in growing and managing a team.


Salary + Benefits

This role is a full time role at 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based at our Chester office (normally) but with flexible working options including the ability to work from home. The starting salary for this role is £40k to £45k per annum depending on experience.

As with most of the world, we are currently working 100% remotely. During lockdown we will work closely with you over video calls, screen shares, and Slack to get you into the systems and up to speed on our projects as well as developing a good understanding of our existing systems, our roadmap, and our working expectations.
